Purpose of the job:
We are looking for a creative and results-driven Social Media Account Manager to join the Io Media team, based in Johannesburg. The Social Media Account Manager is expected to manage and grow the brand presence and awareness of Io Media’s clients across multiple social media platforms.
The role involves putting together a brand plan that aligns with the brand's marketing objectives. This brand plan would then guide the social strategy, engagement, brand audience, and planning of upcoming campaigns, events, sales, and promotions.
You would be working closely with Io Media’s creative teams, to ensure the correct online content is timeously generated that meets your brand plan requirements. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of all social media platforms, content creation, community management, and analytics.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Social Media Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies to enhance brand awareness, increase engagement, and drive traffic to online platforms.
- Collaborate with our client’s marketing teams to align social media efforts with overall marketing goals and campaigns.
- Stay updated on industry trends, platform updates, and emerging social media trends to keep your brands at the forefront of digital innovation.
2. Content Creation & Management:
- Create, curate, and manage high-quality content across all social media channels, including but not limited to Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest.
- Develop a brand plan (content calendar) to ensure consistent and timely posting.
- Collaborate with Io Media’s creative teams to produce visually appealing graphics, videos, and other multimedia content.
3. Community Engagement:
- Work closely with Io Media’s Community Manager to actively engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster a positive community experience.
- Monitor user-generated content and collaborate with legal/compliance teams if necessary.
- Build and maintain relationships with influencers, brand ambassadors, and industry professionals.
4. Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- Analyze key metrics and create detailed reports on the performance of social media campaigns, identifying areas for improvement.
- Use analytics tools to track engagement, growth, and conversion rates, and adjust strategies accordingly to optimise ROI.
- Provide regular updates to Io Media’s clients as well as internal management on social media performance and insights.
5. Advertising & Campaign Management:
- Plan and execute paid social media campaigns across various platforms, optimizing for maximum ROI.
- Monitor and adjust ad performance to meet campaign objectives.
- Work with the marketing team to integrate social media advertising with other digital marketing efforts.
6. Crisis Management:
- Develop and implement crisis management plans to address any potential negative publicity or social media crises.
- Respond quickly and effectively to any issues, ensuring the brand’s reputation is maintained.
7. Budget Management:
- Manage the social media budget, including paid promotions, tools, and external resources.
- Ensure that all expenditures are within budget and deliver value to the organization.
8. Compliance & Best Practices:
- Ensure all social media activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, confidentiality, CI guidelines and company policies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and ethical guidelines.
Qualifications and experience:
Essential:
- 2+ years of experience in social media management, preferably Preferably within the health, wellness, sports, and lifestyle space.
- Proficiency in social media platforms, analytics tools, and content management systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with social media advertising and a track record of successful campaign management.
- A self-starter who can work through ambiguity and collaboratively move priorities forward with minimal oversight.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbally and in written word).
- Ability to work effectively on multiple projects at a time.
- Ability to work methodically, manage traffic and workflow, and meet deadlines.
- A degree / Diploma in a marketing field is a plus.
- Mac literate
Preferred:
- Experience with graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Familiarity with SEO and content marketing principles.
- Knowledge of CRM systems and email marketing platforms.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: R15 000,00 - R30 000,00 per month
