BIBC TELEPHONIST
Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor of the BIBC, this position requires an individual who is assertive, self-disciplined, organized; demonstrates excellent communication skills; can demonstrate computer and telephone skills; and; has an understanding of the importance of effective teamwork and understands the importance of confidentiality.
DURATION Permanent (on successful completion of 3-month probation)
BASIC SALARY BAND
Package offered will be based on TCOE, and factors such as experience will be taken into consideration.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12
- Computer Literate and proficient in Microsoft office.
- The ability to write and speak fluently in at least two of the languages spoken predominantly in the Western Cape including Afrikaans
1 year work experience in customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Prospective candidates must undergo preemployment
background checks as part of the
selection process.

DUTIES
Work Output
- To receive and redirect telephone calls to the appropriate department and teams in an efficient and friendly manner.
- To maintain a helpful and confident manner when dealing with service users, visitors and staff in order to promote a caring and professional image of the BIBC
- To assist clients with enquiries over the telephone.
- To accurately record any messages taken and forward to appropriate person/department.
- To have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with all levels of staff, service users and visitors.
