A family is looking for a QUALIFIED FOUNDATION PHASE TEACHER for their 2 children to travel between Johannesburg and Cape Town
Area: Benoni, Johannesburg and Uniondale, Cape Town
Children's Ages: Grade 3 (9-year-old) Boy and 18-month-old Boy
Child's Neurodivergence Snapshot: The Grade 3 learner has ADHD and is medicated. He struggles with focus, requires regular breaks, and benefits from structure, consistency, and creative engagement. He is highly creative and enjoys hands-on, imaginative activities during break periods.
Support Style: Patient, engaging, structured, and encouraging. The educator should be able to adapt learning approaches, maintain focus through positive reinforcement, and provide individualised academic support while incorporating creative learning opportunities.

Live-in: Own cottage provided in Cape Town and own bedroom with shared bathroom in Johannesburg. Water included educator responsible for electricity usage. Meals included.
Duties: The role involves providing one-on-one academic support and educational guidance within a structured home-school and blended-learning environment. Responsibilities include assisting with daily schedules, assignments, projects, academic planning, organisation, educational oversight, and personalised learner support. The educator will work closely with the family's homeschooling structure to ensure consistent academic progress while fostering independence, confidence, and a positive attitude toward learning. Additional responsibilities include age-appropriate developmental engagement with the family's 18-month-old child where required.
Special Requirements: The ideal candidate should hold a Foundation Phase teaching qualification and have previous teaching, tutoring, or educational support experience. The candidate should be organised, professional, reliable, nurturing yet able to maintain structure and boundaries. Strong English communication skills, a long-term mindset, and the ability to work independently are essential. A valid driver's license and own vehicle are preferred; however, candidates with a valid license who are willing to travel will also be considered. The candidate must be willing to travel regularly between Johannesburg and Cape Town / Western Cape.
Curriculum: Cambridge Curriculum (previous Cambridge experience advantageous but not essential, as the family will provide and fund Cambridge training upon commencement).
Start Date and Contract Term: ASAP – Permanent
Salary: R18 000pm (Gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.95)
