The TRIM Technician is responsible for supporting Total Rig Integrity Management activities through a combination of rope access, rigging, NDT inspection, and lifting equipment inspection services. The role involves carrying out inspection, maintenance, and integrity verification activities on offshore assets while ensuring compliance with safety and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rope access inspection and maintenance activities.
- Conduct NDT inspections in accordance with certified methods and procedures.
- Carry out rigging activities as required for inspection and maintenance scopes.
- Inspect lifting equipment and accessories.
- Complete inspection reports and integrity documentation.
- Ensure compliance with client, industry, and safety standards.
- Participate in risk assessments and toolbox talks.
- Maintain inspection and rope access equipment.
Requirements
- Valid IRATA certification (Level 1, 2, or 3).
- OPITO Rigger certification.
- NDT certifications including:
- Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement (UTM)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
- Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Advantageous:
- Eddy Current Testing (ET)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)
- LEEA certification:
- Foundation Course in Lifting Equipment Engineering (FOU)
- Lifting Accessories (LAC)
- Previous offshore oil & gas experience preferred.
- Valid offshore medical and survival certification.
Multi-skilled individuals with relevant certifications, including the skills below, These technicians should have all the certifications below, but can be various stages/levels and methods:
- Rope Access (IRATA)
- Rigging (OPITO)
- NDT (basic: UTM, MT, PT)
- Advantageous: ET, UT, PAUT
- LEEA (basic: FOU & LAC)
