Minimum Skills & Experience
- National Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are advantageous.
- At least 8 years of experience within mining, specifically mineral processing industry
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all construction activities, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Oversee the daily operations on site, ensuring adherence to project specifications and plans.
- Manage and supervise construction personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring that work is performed in accordance with safety standards and contractual obligations.
- Allocate resources efficiently, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on-site and ensure effective communication among all parties.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits to identify and address potential hazards or non-compliance issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Monitor construction quality to ensure that all work meets the required standards and specifications.
- Conduct inspections and tests to verify that materials and workmanship comply with project requirements.
- Address and rectify any quality issues or deficiencies promptly and effectively.
- Oversee construction budgets and control costs, including managing expenditures and tracking financial performance.
- Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules, ensuring that project milestones and deadlines are met.
- Monitor progress against the project plan and adjust schedules and resources as necessary to address any delays or changes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for construction-related inquiries and issues.
- Provide regular updates and reports to project managers, stakeholders, and clients on construction progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Facilitate effective communication between all project team members and external parties.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date construction documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on construction activities, performance, and compliance.
- Ensure proper documentation of all construction work and modifications for future reference.
- Oversee the final stages of construction, including commissioning and handover of the project to the client.
- Ensure that all project deliverables are completed to satisfaction and that any remaining issues are resolved.
- Conduct post-project reviews to assess performance, gather lessons learned, and implement improvements for future projects.
- Stay updated with the latest industry best practices, technologies, and regulations.
- Any ad hoc tasks as requested by Management
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: R80 000,00 - R100 000,00 per month
