Key Responsibilities
- Lead all onboard human resources operations and crew administration.
- Advise managers on HR policies, employee relations, and disciplinary matters.
- Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and crew sign-on/sign-off procedures.
- Support recruitment and workforce planning in collaboration with shoreside HR teams.
- Oversee crew welfare programs and promote employee engagement.
- Manage performance appraisal processes and support talent development.
- Coordinate onboard training, learning, and development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with maritime labor regulations, company policies, and employment standards.
- Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation.
- Investigate employee grievances and workplace concerns.
- Prepare HR reports, workforce analytics, and compliance documentation.
- Partner with department heads to improve employee performance and retention.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
- 5–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership or management roles.
- Previous experience in hospitality, cruise ships, hotels, or an international environment is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, maritime labor regulations, and HR best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Fluent English (spoken and written) is required.
- Ability to speak one or more additional languages is an advantage and may be required.
- Proficiency in HR information systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive employee matters.
Pay: R45 000,00 - R60 000,00 per month
