The incumbent in this position will provide efficient & effective SHE support while ensuring that all relevant SHE activities are fully aligned to and compiled with the company standards, regional SOP’s and work functions and to all the relevant regulatory requirements. The incumbent will also be responsible to interpret and enforce all government rules and regulations pertaining to the inspection, supervision and repair of emergency equipment and activities for Isando.

SAMTRAC
National Diploma in Safety Management/ Environmental Science Management
A relevant process of Fire Prevention certification/qualification
ISO 14001:2015 and/or ISO45011:2018 training preferable
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role preferably within the Chemical and Petro-chemical industry
Inspection of all fire fighting and suppression equipment
Direct and participant in PIMAD
Prepare and maintain clear and concise fire reporting records
Investigate and report on the cause of all incidents as well as near misses
Ensure that Safety, Risk and PPE Assessments are conducted
Conduct site safety, health, environmental audits
Monitor and measure environmental receptors compile and maintain safety and emergency equipment registers
Assist with the production of Permits to Work, Method Statements, Risk Assessments and hazard identification
Monitor and ensure compliance to all license, permit and authorization conditions
Ensure that environmental sampling is undertaken
Responsible for waste management
