ProStaffSelect are in search of a Head Chef to managed daily production, oversee quality standards, motivate and train staff, implement effective storage systems and stock controls, monitor high quality of incoming purchases and fresh produce at the best prices, ensure profitability, minimum food wastage and good gross profit margins and develop a positive attitude and the well-being of all staff.
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
3 Years as a Senior Chef in a similar environment
All-rounder, knowledge of hot and cold section including pastry and desserts
Passion for kitchen management – including all kitchen administration, general hygiene and people management
Passion for training staff, creating fabulous food, and new ideas
Point of Sale systems and strong Back of House Controls
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and procedures
Computer Literate and sound knowledge of Excel and Word
Familiarity with industry’s best practices
Ability to execute instructions given by the owners or Restaurant GM
Creativity in designing new menus, plating concepts and food ideas
Effective time-management skills
Quick decision-making practices
Strong dietary knowledge
Able to handle pressure in a professional manner
Effective in dealing with uncertainty amongst staff and staff issues
Ability to be patient and develop staff
HACCP (FIFO etc.)
Ability to develop and work well with other chefs and front of house personnel
