SUMMARY
Established in 2010, The Centre of Psychotherapy Excellence (COPE), is a multi-disciplinary treatment programme that lies at the heart of our mental health facilities and specializes in mental health care services. The temporary position for a Psychologist or Occupational Therapist will require the incumbent to work on a part time basis and will be based at the Akeso Montrose Manor Clinic (specialized ED unit). The position is for a 6 month contract and would be a half day position (08:00 – 13:00). The incumbent will contribute and coordinate all mental health related activities ensuring quality care and support to patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide high quality therapeutic programs and interventions to both in-patients and out-patients with measurable outcomes
· Conducting daily group therapy sessions
· Management of individual cases, individual therapy and family therapy
· Conducting individual assessments and client-centred intervention
· Fulfilling administration duties as required by the group practice and HPCSA
· Working as a fully integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team
· Attending weekly ward rounds and providing feedback to the team regarding patients’ progress and treatment
· To actively support and engage in Clinical Quality Projects activities and initiatives
· Taking supervision and engaging in regular training to ensure best practice
· Ensuring CPD requirements are met
· Carrying out administrative duties for COPE as required to ensure smooth running of the therapeutic program
· Conducting family and conjoint sessions
· Must be able to work with both adults and adolescents
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Professional Registration with HPCSA as a Psychologist or Occupational Therapist
· Registered with BHF
· A minimum of 3 years in-patient group experience
· Knowledge and experience eating disorder & addiction intervention would be advantageous
