My client is currently looking for an experienced Functions Manager to join their successful team. The ideal candidate would come from a hotel or events management background, and be a core employee for this very busy, very demanding corporate client. You will have to take an active role in the service of the Meeting and Events Department to ensure guest satisfaction. Working hours are from 06:00 to 16:00 Monday to Friday and when there are special events, you would have to be a lead of your team.
Duties (not limited to):
To liaise with all meeting and events coordinators to ensure that the events and functions runs smoothly to the guest satisfaction.
Attend daily and weekly operational meetings within the group.
To ensure that the department as a function, delivers the core standards of the group.
To ensure that the Company’s brand and service standards are adhered to always.
To empower the team to be able to handle all guests feedback for positive and negative and record accordingly.
Actively consider prevention, recovery, and investigation of any complaints.
To strive to anticipate customers’ needs wherever possible, and to react to these to enhance customer satisfaction.
To be fully conversant with facilities, services and promotions offered by the group and where possible pass this information on to the guests whenever the opportunity arises.
To be aware and responsible for, the security of the function venues and guest’s property.
To ensure that the team, are punctual, polite, courteous, and helpful to guests and colleagues at all times.
Ensure that the team, are correctly uniformed in line with Company Standards and understand the importance of high personal hygiene standards.
Ensure that company and legal standards for cleanliness are maintained within the department.
To communicate and share knowledge with other hotel departments.
Liase with Banqueting Chef and other Managers about preventative maintenance of department and daily check-ins with your team with regards to planning.
To prepare and check and monitor the departmental forecasts and rotas to ensure that they are in line with set budgets and meet the service and business needs.
Purchase / order departmental supplies, carry out monthly stock take and action and discrepancies in line with company standards.
Maintain financial awareness and understanding of how the role impacts on the group’s profit and loss account.
Control departmental costs through correct storage and distribution of supplies.
Understand the importance of adhering to company policy with reference to Hazard spotting, first aid reporting, and reporting accidents.
To assist in the activity of quality service.
To attend meetings and carry out agreed actions.
