Opportunity for an experienced facilities/maintenance manager to oversee all services at a luxury multi-faceted hotel property in Cape town.
Requirements
-
Grade 12 (essential)
-
Minimum 4 years experience as a Maintenance Manager for a large multifaceted hospitality property
-
Degree/ Diploma in Electrical, Engineering or Facilities management etc (beneficial)
-
Excellent all-rounder (Electrical, Plumbing, Construction, Air-conditioning, landscaping, pools, pumps etc)
-
Good Knowledge on SPA facilities and systems and the standard required
-
Good knowledge on services- water, sewage, garbage disposal, IT, security, CCTV etc
-
Driver’s licence (essential)- Own transport
-
Computer Literate- Must be able to produce reports and budgets
-
Must be able to deal with departmental HR- staff rosters, discipline, appraisals etc.

Detail oriented and organised to the highest degree

Professional and presentable to guests

Excellent soft skills for managing staff- Hands on, a great team player by leading by example
Description
-
Responsible for the overall supervision of Maintenance of the hotel, and all other facilities, including the upkeep of buildings, fixtures, furniture and equipment, landscaping and gardens, and recreational facilities.

Overseeing the agreed contracts with service providers (internal & external) including security, parking, cleaning, waste management, housekeeping, IT systems, CCTV, and physical infrastructure maintenance work.

Develop disaster protocol management programs and preventative measures and ensure regular inspection of firefighting equipment and ensure that utilities are safe and being used effectively

Ensure effective stock control procedures and methods are being followed and that the maintenance expense budget is achieved.

Ensure all work is completed in line with company standards and are compliant to set regulations (OHSA)

Ensure a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program for the hotel is implemented and that all essential equipment is serviced and maintained in a manner which prolongs the lifespan of all equipment.

Communicates with management and provides feedback on any issues or routine maintenance that needs to be scheduled that would interfere with guest satisfaction

Responsible for managing the maintenance according to relevant laws and procedures.

Provide cost effective management by managing a budget and being pro-active in terms of priorities and energy efficiency

Perform occasional other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
