Job Overview
UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry. This position requires to manage and direct Production processes while ensuring optimum utilization of resources to create safe environment, increase cost saving, quality, outputs and efficiency of Production in line with plant strategic objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct weekly 5s audit and follow up on any open items/findings.
Communicate with other departments to ensure cross functionality within L2 forum
Planning & organizing resources in ensuring daily and monthly KPIs (SQDCEP) are met.
Follow up and ensure corrective measures are in place in relation to all quality concerns from RFT, FTT and PR Audit.
Ensure QRPS prioritization process is followed and adhere to in relation to SQDCE.
Develop Production processes and ensure there is adherence.
Develop Production cards.
Hold team leaders accountable for poor performance in relation to SQDCP and follow
Organizational policies to correct.
Ensure Production Kaizen/continuous improvement target is met.
Responsible for analyzing Production loss time and putting measures in place to mitigate reoccurrence.
Responsible for End of Shift daily meetings.
Responsible to proactively highlight issues related to potential disturbances/threats for the day & week production output.
Discipline issues of unsafe act, non-compliance to quality standard, absenteeism (refer to absenteeism decision tree), etc.
Identify the training needs of team members & actions required to impart the training.
Ensure 5s standards are adhered to on the Shopfloor.
To cascade all L2 and L3 information/communication to Team leaders.
Participate in all allocated Plant Projects as requested by immediate Manager.
To ensure that equipment, jigs fixtures, tools, material handling equipment and lifting gear conform to occupational health and Safety Act (OHS Act) specifications.
Lead all Production Root cause analysis and EWOs and reporting on L2 forum.
Collaborate and support other departments in relation to Production issues.
Prepare reports: Daily (L2 & L3), Weekly (Production Performance).
Performs related duties as required.
To comply with the organization policies and procedures.
Minimum qualifications
Advanced Diploma in Operations Management (Essential) or
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial)
Experience
3-5 years in Production Supervisor position.
Commercial Vehicle assembly/manufacturing experience in Management role will be an added advantage.
Specific skills
Project management especially new product introduction.
Intermediate Computer Literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Assembly line balancing knowledge.
Workplace organization.
Project scenario analysis
Risk and Data analysis
Autonomous maintenance.
Knowledge of lean practices (Essential).
Safety and environmental regulations knowledge
Vehicle assembly/production tools
Project Management principles
Technical product knowledge (Heavy Commercial Vehicles)
Basic cost accounting
PDCA Cycle
Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001
