Merchandiser is responsible for executing visual merchandising strategies to ensure products are well-presented, properly stocked, and attractively displayed in-store. This role supports sales and customer satisfaction by maintaining brand standards, optimizing shelf space, and ensuring promotional materials are correctly placed.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure shelves are fully stocked with the correct products and neatly arranged at all times.
Rotate stock according to First-In, First-Out (FIFO) principles to minimise expiry and shrinkage.
Execute visual merchandising standards .
Set up promotional displays and signage as per marketing campaigns or seasonal promotions.
Monitor product availability and inform relevant departments about low or out-of-stock items.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of display areas.
Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
Previous experience in retail or merchandising (1–2 years preferred).
Knowledge of retail brands and merchandising techniques.
Experience using handheld stock scanners or basic inventory tools (advantageous).
Good eye for detail and visual presentation.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to follow merchandising guidelines accurately.
Physical stamina to stand, lift, and move stock throughout the day.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic numeracy and ability to manage stock counts.
