The General Manager is responsible for the overall directing, control, coordination, functional management, and strategic leadership of all the activities of the business pertaining to the company.
This schedule constitutes the primary duties and functions of the employee and forms an integral part of the Employment Agreement, although alternative duties, assignments and projects may be afforded to the employee.
Furthermore, Annexure A may be amended from time to time as may be required by the Company.
Job Responsibilities:
- Liaising with clients from the beginning to the end and attending the necessary activities and overseeing training programs to ensure that it goes smoothly.
- Responsible for all projects and company’s budgets of all company’s activities
- Responsible for the satisfaction of clients or customers by ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery.
- Building relationships and networking with customers and aircraft owners
- Attain sales and development of new ideas for the company, including charters and contracts. Ensure operations are managed and handled efficiently and timely.
- Arrange charters, short- and long-term flight contracts and arrange aircraft required rentals and leases for the flights attained. This will require among others having an updated data base of different aircraft for different flight requirements as well as pilots accordingly.
- Ensure price list updated when change in aircraft lease rates or fuel prices etc.
- Preparing proposals including costing for clients and maintaining well-organized portfolio and follow up records.
- Maintaining working relationships with internal and external partners and holding these relationships to deliver innovative and high standards deliverables.
- Follow up on potential customers and assist staff with prospect students, customers proposals/quotations.
- Managing and developing the sales including cadet program and increasing the number of students learning to fly at the company.
- Work out with management and financial department budgets and ensure sales targets are attained.
- Assist the company in all SACAA requirements, inspections and audits.
- Responsible for ensuring that the company meets all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage office functions with company’s staff members.
- Manage Avgeek shop.
- Arrange and update company presentations, profiles, and price lists. Work closely with marketing department and ensure postings in social media.
- Ensure that the day to day running of the company is smooth, provide solutions and ensuring a proactive team grows and develop.
- Managing the reporting line managers and guiding them in building their respective teams.
- Ensuring that the company meets all legal requirements by delegating and guiding the respective responsible people as applicable.
- Ensures safe and efficient operation of the flying section of training operations as well as the control and co-ordination thereof.
- Ensures overall discipline, welfare and morale of instructors, personnel and students.
- Ensures Compliance to the company MOP.
- Supervises general administration for the efficient functioning of the flying section as a whole.
Ensures, in conjunction with the Aviation Safety Manager, that all reports of operational irregularities including incident and accident reports are properly investigated, resolved and actioned as necessary.
- Addresses items of operational significance brought to his/her attention by other staff members.
- Determines and establishes flight crew and the associated training programmes necessary to meet present and future operational requirements.
- Ensures optimum usage of flight crew resources under his/her control.
- Ensures the maintenance of proper records regarding flight operations in general and the proficiency of individual flight crew members in particular.
- Maintains flying standards.
- Ensures standardisation of instructional and flight techniques among flight training personnel.
- Co-ordinates aircraft and crew scheduling.
- Amends/updates dangerous goods training material on an annual basis in accordance with ICAO TI’s.
- Building relationships and networking resulting in new students and aircraft sales.
- Developing and increasing the customer base in-and-out of South Africa.
- Sourcing and developing the sales side of the flying cadet program, individual students, flight contracts and increasing the number of students learning to fly and flying activities at the company.
- Actively involved in canvassing and sourcing clients who are interested in purchasing aircraft worldwide.
Requirements:
