GENERAL WORKER (PAROW) Join our dynamic team at DIESEL-ELECTRIC (CAPE)(RF) (PTY) LTD, a leading automotive wholesaler committed to providing exceptional service to our valued customers. We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual to fill the role of General Worker at our Parow Branch. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to support the efficient operations of our warehouse by accurately picking, packing, receiving, and handling automotive products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pick stock accurately according to picking slips/order specifications and pack items securely for dispatch or collection.
- Check picked and received items for damage, defects, and quantity variances, and report issues immediately.
- Assist with stock control by updating/confirming inventory records and ensuring goods are stored, binned, and labelled correctly.
- Work as part of the warehouse team to meet daily throughput targets and customer service requirements.
- Operate warehouse equipment and tools safely, following company procedures and health and safety standards.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards (clean aisles, correct stacking, and tidy work areas) to prevent damage and improve efficiency.
- Move stock safely using pallet jacks/trolleys and apply correct manual-handling techniques when lifting or moving heavy items.
- Perform other duties as required by the Warehouse Manager to support branch operations.
Minimum requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
- Team player who collaborates effectively with colleagues, suppliers, drivers, and management.
- Physically fit - able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
- Strong attention to detail, especially in picking, packing, and quantity checks.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to daily challenges.
- Good verbal communication skills and a positive, professional manner.
- Reliable, with the ability to follow instructions accurately and apply sound judgement.
- Willingness to learn new processes and take on additional responsibilities.
- Basic numeracy skills (accurate counting).
Pay: From R42,62 per hour
