Purpose
The SAP Logistics Specialist is responsible for the analysis, configuration, enhancement, testing and support of TNPA’s SAP Logistics solution across Real Estate Management (RE / RE-FX), Materials Management (MM), Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), Plant Maintenance (PM), Project System (PS) and Sales & Distribution (SD), in accordance with agreed standards.
The incumbent enables and supports TNPA’s operational, maintenance, procurement, project and commercial processes in SAP, translating logistics business requirements into effective configuration and solutions across the ports environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyse logistics business requirements and configure the relevant SAP Logistics modules – RE / RE-FX, MM, EHS, PM, PS and SD – to meet TNPA’s operational needs.
- Configure and support procurement and inventory processes (MM), maintenance and asset-care processes (PM), project structures and costing (PS), leasing and property processes (RE-FX), safety / environmental / incident processes (EHS) and sales, billing and revenue processes (SD).
- Ensure effective cross-module integration between Logistics modules and with SAP Financials (FI / CO).
- Prepare functional specifications for developments (reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms) and work with ABAP developers on delivery.
- Develop test cases and perform functional, integration and user-acceptance testing; resolve configuration-related defects.
- Provide functional support, enhancements and issue resolution to the operational user community in line with the agreed SLAs.
- Prepare and maintain configuration and functional documentation and support end-user training.
- Support S/4HANA Logistics capabilities and simplifications where applicable.
- Ensure that solutions comply with operational-control, audit and governance requirements.
- Liaise with operational stakeholders, Business Analysts, the SAP team and the Project Manager.
Position Challenges
- Configuring and supporting a broad set of integrated Logistics modules within a single role.
- Aligning standardised SAP processes with port-specific operational practices across the eight commercial seaports.
- Maintaining integration integrity between Logistics and Finance.
Decision Making
- Determine configuration and solution options for the relevant Logistics modules within agreed standards.
- Recommend process improvements and fit-gap solution options for logistics requirements.
- Assess the cross-module impact of changes on integrated processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree / National Diploma in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related discipline.
- SAP certification in one or more of the relevant modules (MM, SD, PM, PS, RE-FX, EHS) is advantageous.
- 5–7 years’ SAP Logistics configuration and support experience across two or more of the listed modules.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Logistics is a strong advantage.
Skills Required
- Strong configuration skills in the relevant SAP Logistics modules (RE / RE-FX, MM, EHS, PM, PS, SD).
- Knowledge of Logistics integration with SAP FI / CO and across modules.
- Understanding of port / terminal operational, maintenance, procurement and commercial processes.
- Ability to write clear functional specifications and test cases.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills and attention to detail.
