We are looking for a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high food quality standards, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations.
- Supervise and support kitchen staff during food preparation and service.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and portion control.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
- Help develop new menu items and seasonal specials.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organisation.
- Take responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie.
- Strong culinary skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of food cost control and stock management.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible, reliable, and team-oriented.
- Relevant culinary qualification preferred.
Pay: R9 829,02 - R27 788,28 per month
