Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Develop engineering project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and budgets. Oversee project execution to ensure each phase progresses as planned.
- Team Management: Lead engineering project teams, coordinate team members' work, and ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Communication and Reporting: Maintain effective communication with clients, team members, and other stakeholders, regularly reporting on project progress and key issues.
- Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and manage project risks, and develop contingency plans.
- Quality Control: Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and client requirements.
- Contract Management: Participate in project bidding, contract negotiations, and management to ensure contract terms align with company interests.
- Cost Control: Monitor project costs to ensure completion within budget.
- Site Management: Supervise construction sites, ensuring construction progress, safety, and quality meet requirements.
- Documentation Management: Maintain engineering project documentation, ensuring all project materials are updated and filed promptly.
- Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects comply with South African laws and regulations, handling legal and regulatory matters as required.
- Process Management: Be highly familiar with engineering process standards, ensuring construction processes adhere strictly to these standards.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of managing large, residential projects.
- Professional Skills: Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6), PMP or other project management certifications preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction codes, engineering processes, and management procedures, with a strong knowledge of South African laws and regulations.
- Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities, with strong problem-solving and stress management skills.
