Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified accountant to manage a portfolio of our existing clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for client onboarding; clients and team liaison; oversight of experienced bookkeepers; financial health reviews and reconciliations; financial statements and reports; income and provisional taxes; and other compliance related matters. This is a remote working opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored accounting solutions.
- Onboard new clients and streamline processes for existing clients.
- Collaborate with a team of experienced bookkeepers, reviewing and ensuring the quality of their work.
- Conduct periodic financial health reviews and trial balance reconciliations.
- Prepare customized management report packs.
- Prepare budgets, cashflows and other reports.
- Draft annual financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the South African Companies Act and related working papers.
- Prepare and file income tax and provisional tax calculations with SARS.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of tasks, documents, and schedules.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- SAIPA, SAIBA or SAICA - AGA(SA) member.
- Proficiency in using Xero, HubDoc, Dext, SimplePay, Draftworx, and eFiling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients in various time zones and geographical locations.
- Self-disciplined with excellent time management skills, able to set and meet deadlines.
- Highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and productive without the need for a traditional office environment.
- Must have atleast 3 years’ experience in this field.
