Ergasia is recruiting on behalf of a leading client for an experienced Collections Agent to manage an Off-Balance Vehicle & Asset Finance (VAF) portfolio.
This is not a standard collections role. The successful candidate will work on a legal mandate and must have a solid understanding of asset litigation, prescription, legal recovery processes, and vehicle asset collections.

- Grade 12 / Matric
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience collecting on a Vehicle & Asset Finance (VAF) portfolio
- Previous experience working on an Off-Balance VAF portfolio
- Knowledge of asset litigation and the legal recovery process
- Good understanding of prescription
- Experience educating customers on legal processes relating to repossession, judgments and shortfall recoveries
- Knowledge of debt collection legislation including the National Credit Act (NCA) and POPIA
- Working knowledge of Excalibur 4 will be highly advantageous
- Knowledge of DM will be beneficial
- Clear criminal and credit record
- Basic computer literacy
- Manage an allocated Off-Balance Vehicle & Asset Finance portfolio.
- Recover outstanding debt while maximising recoveries.
- Negotiate settlements, payment arrangements and instalment increases.
- Engage professionally with customers regarding legal processes relating to asset recovery.
- Handle difficult and previously unresponsive customers.
- Ensure accurate notes and customer records are maintained.
- Respond to customer queries telephonically and in writing.
- Meet recovery and activation targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
- An excellent communicator with outstanding telephone etiquette
- Confident negotiating with customers

- Proven collections success on aged or difficult debt
