We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts & Finance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's financial operations, with a strong focus on medical aid administration, accounts receivable, cash flow management, and collections. This role requires excellent analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to work independently while meeting strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical aid claims accurately and within required timeframes.
- Manage medical aid billing, ensuring all invoices and claims are correctly prepared and submitted.
- Follow up with medical aid schemes regarding outstanding claims, rejections, and payment queries.
- Reconcile medical aid payments and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor accounts receivable and actively manage debtors and collections.
- Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts and monitor daily cash flow requirements.
- Ensure timely collection of outstanding accounts and maintain healthy debtor ageing.
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
- Liaise with patients, medical aid providers, and internal stakeholders regarding billing and account queries.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the finance department.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an accounts or finance role.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in:
- Medical aid claim submissions
- Medical aid billing
- Medical aid claim follow-ups
- Cash flow management
- Debtors management and collections
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
Preferred Skills
- Experience within the healthcare or medical practice environment will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of medical aid billing systems and practice management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
