iNCO Creative is a Durban-based creative and digital agency where ideas are shaped into work people want to watch, share and remember. From branding and social media to digital campaigns and video production, we help businesses across a wide range of industries tell their stories with clarity, creativity and purpose.
We’re a collaborative team of creatives, strategists and makers who enjoy turning strong ideas into engaging work. We’re looking for a promising junior videographer and editor who is ready to learn, contribute and grow with us.
The role
We’re looking for a Junior Videographer & Video Editor with a good creative eye, a solid grasp of the basics and the motivation to keep developing their craft.
You’ll support the creative team throughout the production process, from planning and preparing for shoots to capturing footage and assisting with edits. You’ll work on content for social media, digital campaigns, events, corporate projects and brand storytelling.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career who wants to gain practical agency experience, work with different clients and industries, and build a strong body of work.
What you’ll be doing
- Assist with pre-production planning, shot lists, schedules and equipment preparation
- Contribute ideas during creative and production discussions
- Travel to client sites and other locations for shoots
- Capture video content using DSLR or mirrorless camera equipment
- Assist with lighting, audio and production setups
- Help clients and contributors feel comfortable on camera
- Edit short-form and long-form content under the guidance of the creative team
- Create content for social media, digital campaigns, events and corporate projects
- Handle basic colour correction, audio adjustments and final exports
- Adapt videos for different platforms, durations and aspect ratios
- Organise footage, project files, backups and media libraries
- Use AI chat and generative tools to assist with research, brainstorming, scripting, storyboarding and creative exploration
- Check and refine AI-assisted work before it is used in a project
- Respond to feedback and complete revisions accurately
- Help maintain production equipment and keep it shoot-ready
- Keep learning about new filming techniques, editing styles and creative technologies
What we’re looking for
- Up to 2 years of videography or video-editing experience, including freelance, internship or personal project experience
- A portfolio or showreel demonstrating your filming and editing ability
- A working understanding of DSLR or mirrorless camera systems
- A good eye for composition, lighting and visual storytelling
- Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or a comparable editing suite
- Basic knowledge of audio recording and lighting setups
- Familiarity with AI chat or generative content tools, or a willingness to learn how to use them responsibly
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to take direction and respond well to feedback
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to travel for shoots
- Flexibility to work outside standard office hours when productions require it
- A valid driver’s licence
Nice to have
- A relevant diploma or degree in film, media, video production or a related field
- Access to your own reliable vehicle
- Basic knowledge of Adobe After Effects
- Basic Adobe Photoshop skills
- Experience with AI-assisted image, video, audio or editing tools
- Photography experience
- Experience creating content for social media
- An interest in motion graphics, animation or drone filming
You’ll fit in well if…
You’re curious, reliable and excited about telling stories through film. You may still be developing your technical skills, but you understand the fundamentals and are willing to put in the work to improve.
You take pride in being prepared, pay attention to the small details and are comfortable asking questions when you need guidance. You’re interested in new creative tools, including AI, but understand that technology works best when guided by original thinking, good judgement and a clear creative purpose.
