Our company in (steel conversions) is looking for a driver who will be responsible for transporting packages, equipment, groceries tools, appliances or anything that can be needed by the company from suppliers to our Workshop or to clients or any location that is set by the employer. Their duties include loading parcels into the vehicle, using a navigation system to map their route and doing long distance deliveries to the correct addresses in a timely manner.
The driver’s responsibilities is maintaining a travel log to record work hours, travel-time and locations travelled to. The driver should also be able to perform routine checks on the company vehicle.
To ensure success as a driver, you should brainstorm and select the most appropriate routes based on your workload and knowledge of area. Ultimately, an exceptional driver will render friendly and efficient services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Drive defensively to ensure safety
- Follow all traffic laws
- Ability to operate a truck mounted crane
- Transport clients and/or packages to and from destinations
- Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use
- Keep mileage records and repair records up-to-date
- Arrive at destinations on schedule
- Sound knowledge of the crane and operation
- Promptly informing the company of any tickets issued against the company vehicle during work hours.
- ensuring that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking in order to avoid towing.
- providing accurate time records of the company vehicle’s coming and goings.
- porting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management.
- Performing inspections of vehicles and equipment
- keep interior of vehicle clean of debris and clutter
Driver Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, Code 10 & 14 with pdp.
- Crane Operator certificate
- Clean driving record.
- Sound knowledge of road safety regulations.
- Knowledge of local roads and routes.
- The ability to utilize maps, GPS systems, and car manuals.
- Effective communication skills.
- Punctual and reliable.
- High level of accuracy; must be able to follow directions from dispatcher
- Physically able to lift heavy objects
