We are a UK based hotel group looking to establish an administration and reservations facility in Johannesburg to support our hotel operations in Scotland.
We are looking for an energetic, capable and highly organised person with a passion for hospitality. This role requires someone who is confident with technology, able to learn and manage hotel systems and capable of helping to establish a new administration and reservations function from the ground up.
This is not a junior reception or routine reservations role. We need someone who can take ownership, think practically, document processes, improve workflows and help create a professional, efficient and guest focused support facility for our UK hotel operations.
The successful candidate will handle guest enquiries, assist with bookings and reservations, support hotel reception teams remotely and help develop the procedures, systems and standards needed for a centralised administration and reservations office.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Handling telephone and email enquiries from guests
- Assisting with room reservations, amendments and cancellations
- Supporting the UK hotel reception teams with reservation related queries
- Assisting with general hotel administration
- Helping to set up systems, processes and standard operating procedures
- Maintaining accurate guest, booking and administrative information
- Following up on enquiries and potential bookings
- Providing friendly, professional and efficient guest service
- Identifying ways to improve the reservations and administration process as the facility develops
- Helping to ensure that hotel systems are used accurately and consistently
Requirements:
- Strong IT literacy and confidence working with booking, reservations or other online management systems
- Ability to learn new software quickly and help others use systems properly
- Excellent telephone manner and written communication skills
- Highly organised, accurate and able to manage multiple tasks
- Able to take initiative and work without supervision
- Comfortable supporting a UK based hotel team remotely
- Energetic, adaptable and willing to help build a new function from scratch
The role would suit someone who has moved beyond a purely front desk position and is ready to take responsibility for systems, processes and operational support.
