We are looking for a competitive and experienced Sales Executive to help us build up our business activities and ultimately, helping us meet and surpass business expectations and contribute to our company’s sustainable growth.
Overview
The candidate will actively take ownership of our product and services, support business growth, and foster relationships with our clients. A passion for sales, excellent communication skills, and working in an exciting, fast-paced, team centric environment is what this role is all about.
THE ROLE
- Management of the existing team of key account managers, buyers and expeditors,
- Actively search for new business opportunities and identify important prospects through networking and research,
- Bring in new clients for our organization while retaining the existing ones. You will act as the key point of contact for our clients,
- Work with other departments (manufacturing, and support functions) to maintain and boost customer experience.
TASKS
- Qualifying leads generated by the sales team and mapping out a down-funnel journey for every prospect,
- Scheduling and attending discovery calls, following up with existing clients, collecting feedback, and maintaining business relationships,
- Identifying new sales opportunities through cold calling, emailing, and networking and initiating contact with the right prospects,
- Preparing sales reports with critical targets, trends, and highlights monthly, and analysing data to improve sales approach across the funnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring timeous and accurate quoting for all customer RFQ’s, ensuring after full costings and indicative quotes have been received, that reasonable company margins are obtained,
- Ensuring KAM’s follow up all quotes to ensure highest possible conversion rate, and if customer does not accept quote to establish reason why customer has rejected quote,
- Managing process flow of Quotes, Sales Orders and Production Orders on SAP ERP system with relevant KAM’s to ensure desired level of SAP “housekeeping” is maintained,
- Ensure KAM’s initiate Production Order process timeously upon receipt of customer PO’s Oversight of incoming customer supplied kits process,
- Effective and timeous liaison and communication with all customers, either directly or via KAM’s and manage and maintain personal interactions (visits) with the top 20 company customers in terms of agreed customer meeting timetable,
- Manage Customer requests/complaints/requirements in terms of agreed customer request turnaround timeframes,
- Keep all customers informed of possible Product delivery delays and assist in expediting and resolving issues relating to delays including stores, procurement, and production
- Conduct regular Customer Satisfaction Surveys for presentation at Exco, with a target of 100% customer satisfaction,
- Effective and timeous liaison and communication with all stakeholders, including production (factory managers), procurement, stores, finance, quality control and other support as appropriate,
- Supervising the work of direct reports and measuring and monitoring performance.
- Maintain accurate and up to date reporting as per company requirements for the department (Sales, Procurement and Customer Services related),
- Ensure no finished goods stock movement occurs without the relevant ERP processes/ paperwork having been completed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years’ proven leadership experience in a sales and customer facing role required, preferably in the electronics industry,
- Electronic component knowledge advantageous,
- Min diploma and / or degree,
- Expertise in using or having full oversight of an ERP system essential (SAP B1 is used at Microtronix),
- Experience in fostering and maintaining sound relationships with customers, and in sales departments,
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with demonstrable knowledge of sales techniques and strategies,
- Excellent interpersonal skills, research capabilities, negotiation skills, and essential analytical capabilities,
- You are fluent in English and able to communicate effectively in Afrikaans,
- Highly motivated and sales driven,
- Ability to contribute as a valued team member, whilst managing and developing your own team in a high-pressure deadline driven environment,
- Good attention to detail.
REMUNERATION
Basic + Comm negotiable
