We're looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic team and help us keep delivering on that promise.
About the Role
We need a hands-on, reliable Operations Supervisor with solid experience in logistics/warehousing environments, who knows how to manage people on the ground and keep operations running smoothly across multiple client sites. This is a demanding, high-accountability role suited to someone who thrives under pressure and takes true ownership of their sites and team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day staffing operations across assigned client sites (warehousing, distribution, logistics)
- Manage, supervise, and provide direction to placed staff reporting to you
- Handle disciplinary matters professionally and in line with correct labour procedures — issuing warnings, conducting hearings, and maintaining proper documentation
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage at all times, including proactive contingency planning for absences/no-shows
- Be available and responsive to client and staff calls 24/7, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as operational needs require
- Communicate consistently with clients and Head Office — daily site updates, escalations, and issue resolution
- Recruit, screen, and onboard new staff as needed to maintain adequate coverage
- Ensure full compliance with Company SOPs, including recruitment file completeness before staff are placed on site
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory/management role within logistics, warehousing, or a similar operational environment
- Experience managing and taking accountability for a team of direct reports
- Solid working knowledge of disciplinary procedures and basic labour law principles (CCMA processes, warnings, hearings)
- Valid driver's licence (essential)
- Must be available at all times, including for after-hours and weekend calls — this is a 24/7 operational role
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
- High level of integrity, reliability, and ownership — you will be trusted with real operational and disciplinary authority
- Own reliable transport
