Macsteel Meyerton is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented NDT Technician to join its Quality Assurance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing non-destructive testing inspections on steel products and components to ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and industry regulations.

- Minimum NQF Level 4–5 qualification (Grade 12/Matric plus a Higher Certificate or equivalent).
- Relevant post-school qualification in Non-Destructive Testing, including Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level 1 certification.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience performing Non-Destructive Testing within a steel manufacturing or heavy industrial production environment.
- Additional qualifications and/or experience in electronic, electrical, or mechanical disciplines will be advantageous.
- Proficient in the use of computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant software systems.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime and shifts as operational requirements dictate.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment medical examination is required.

- Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections and testing activities to ensure product quality and compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
- Monitor and maintain optimal performance of inspection and testing equipment, while ensuring high standards of housekeeping across the inspection area.
- Plan, coordinate, and support preventative maintenance activities, including the management of consumables, spare parts, and equipment availability.
- Assist with the design, development, modification, and continuous improvement of existing inspection and testing systems and equipment.
- Participate in project initiatives aimed at enhancing inspection processes, product quality, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Benchmark inspection methods and processes against industry best practices and support the development and implementation of inspection procedures for new products and applications.
- Accurately record, analyse, and report inspection results, ensuring compliance with quality management requirements. Identify defects, abnormalities, and process deviations, and provide technical input to support corrective actions.
- Promote and adhere to all safety, health, environmental, and quality standards and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to achieve operational objectives.
- Perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities related to the role as required by management.
