About the Opportunity
Well-established manufacturer within the trailer manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced Production Foreman to lead production operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong production, welding and people management experience who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily production activities to ensure production targets are achieved.
- Plan, organise and control production workflows for maximum efficiency.
- Manage production schedules and optimise manufacturing capacity.
- Supervise production teams, allocate work and monitor productivity.
- Ensure continuous availability of materials to prevent production delays.
- Coordinate warehousing and movement of production components.
- Monitor quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Ensure welding and fabrication activities comply with engineering specifications and quality requirements.
- Manage staff attendance, overtime, performance and discipline.
- Conduct daily production meetings and communicate production requirements.
- Ensure machinery, equipment and tooling are maintained and available.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and enforce all Health & Safety standards.
- Liaise effectively with Production Planning, Quality, Logistics and Maintenance departments.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Tertiary Qualification in Production Management, Operations Management or related field. (essential)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production planning and manufacturing processes.
- Computer literate (MS Office).
- Valid Code 8 driver's licence.
- Clear criminal record.
