Shuttle Services: Core Driving & Operational Duties Safe Passenger Transport: Safely and efficiently transport clients to their destinations along planned or requested routes, adhering strictly to local traffic laws and speed limits. Punctuality & Scheduling: Monitor daily schedules, pick-up times, and drop-off windows to ensure clients arrive on time for appointments, flights, or events. Route Planning & Navigation: Utilize GPS and local road knowledge in and around Paarl and the Western Cape to navigate traffic efficiently and choose the best routes. Client Care & Assistance: Greet passengers warmly, assist with opening/closing vehicle doors, and provide polite, professional customer service throughout the journey. Luggage Handling: Safely load, unload, and handle passenger luggage and personal belongings with care. Vehicle Maintenance & Safety Checks Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct daily walk-around checks of the vehicle (checking tire pressure, oil, coolant, brake fluids, lights, indicators, and wipers) before starting the shift. Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle interior and exterior at all times, ensuring it is vacuumed, wiped down, and sanitized between trips. Maintenance Reporting: Immediately report any mechanical issues, warning lights, or vehicle damage to management and ensure regular servicing intervals are met. Fuel Management: Monitor fuel levels and refuel the vehicle as needed, keeping accurate receipts and records for company tracking. Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all legal documents, vehicle registration papers, insurance details, and valid professional driving permits (PrDP) are up-to-date and kept in the vehicle at all times. Trip Logging: Maintain accurate records of each trip, including mileage, passenger counts, start/end times, and any incidental notes or client feedback. Payment Handling: Collect fares, process digital/cash payments securely (if applicable), and reconcile daily cash floats or transaction slips with company records. Safety Protocol Adherence: Enforce company safety policies, including seatbelt compliance for all passengers and strict adherence to zero-tolerance rules regarding mobile phone use while driving and substance impairment.
