IT Support Intern (Work Integrated Learning Placement)
About the Opportunity
Freddy Hirsch Group (Pty) Ltd. is offering a SETA-funded Work Integrated Learning (WIL) internship placement within our IT, Operations and Facilities function, based at our offices in Cape Town. This is a fantastic opportunity for a registered student who needs to complete a mandatory WIL component in order to graduate, to gain genuine, hands-on workplace experience in a busy corporate IT environment.
The Role
The intern will provide day-to-day support to our IT, Operations and Facilities team, assisting with a variety of tasks across these areas. There is also scope for the wider team to draw on this resource, giving the intern broad exposure across departments and ensuring the placement is used to full effect.
- Assisting with daily IT support tasks and troubleshooting
- Supporting Operations and Facilities functions as needed
- Providing general administrative and technical assistance to the wider team
- Any other duties reasonably required to support the department
Minimum Requirements
- Currently registered as a student at a University, University of Technology, or Private Higher Education Institution — non-negotiable
- Studying towards an IT-related qualification (e.g. a Higher Certificate in IT Support Services or similar) that includes a mandatory Work Integrated Learning (WIL) component required for graduation — non-negotiable
- Must meet SETA funding/eligibility criteria for an Internship grant placement — non-negotiable
- Strong willingness to learn, good communication skills, and a proactive, helpful attitude
Placement Details
- Location: Cape Town, South Africa
- Type: SETA-funded WIL Internship (placement fee/stipend as per SETA grant terms)
- Duration: To be confirmed based on the student's WIL requirements
Pay: R5 000,00 per hour
Work Location: In person
