We are seeking a Sales & Data Insights Analyst to join the Growth Division in Durban, reporting to the National Sales and Digital Reporting Manager.
The purpose of the role is to leverage internal and external data to deliver actionable customer, consumer and channel insights that support effective decision-making and business growth. The incumbent will conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, identify market opportunities, and provide insight-led recommendations to support strategy development, sales force effectiveness, customer engagement and category growth.
The role will also support customer briefs, innovation projects, lead generation, new business opportunities, promotional effectiveness and ROI analysis, ensuring data-driven decision-making across the business.
Data, Insights & Research
- Gather, analyse and interpret internal and external data to generate actionable customer, consumer and market insights.
- Develop and maintain research repositories and insight platforms to improve data accessibility across stakeholders.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to support business, customer and innovation initiatives.
- Monitor market, customer and channel performance, identifying trends, risks, opportunities and recommendations.
Customer Insights & Innovation
- Translate data into compelling customer and consumer narratives that support business growth.
- Support customer briefs through insight generation and research-driven recommendations.
- Lead and coordinate innovation projects and customer engagement initiatives, including insight development, product concepts, workshops and presentations.
- Manage and enhance customer targeting and segmentation models to optimise sales effectiveness and ROI.
Data Management & Business Support
- Partner with internal teams and external data providers to maximise data quality, integration and reporting effectiveness.
- Deliver actionable insights on distribution, rate of sale, penetration, pricing, profitability and growth opportunities.
- Support resource allocation, outlet targeting and strategic decision-making through data-driven analysis.
Marketing & Commercial Support
- Provide market and category insights to inform new product development, promotional effectiveness and commercial strategies.
- Assess investment returns, track market performance and support pricing and competitive intelligence activities.
- Supply channel and customer performance information to support sales, marketing and supply chain decision-making.
Financial & Operational Support
- Support ROI modelling, profitability analysis and business case development to drive sustainable growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven planning, execution and strategy development.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, customers and external partners, acting as a subject matter expert in data and insights.
- Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders to support business and customer objectives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of business and SIA targets.
- Quality, accuracy and effectiveness of insights, analysis and recommendations delivered to the business.
- Matric with Mathematics.
- BCom qualification in Finance, Economics, Statistics or a related analytical field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Data Analyst, Market Research or similar analytical role.
- Advanced Power BI proficiency is essential.
