Requirements
- B Eng, BSc Eng, B Tech in Engineering
- A Master’s degree focused on Data Management, Information
Technology or a related field will be advantageous
- 8 years of more relevant experience, postgraduate experience
- Sound knowledge of SCADA, Telemetry, communications and
information systems.
- Experience with the implementation and management of Control
Room environments
- Physically Fit
- Valid driver’s licence
Key Performance Areas
- Lead the development, enhancement and maintenance of Events
Management, Decision Support, Data Management and
operational control systems supporting water distribution,
wastewater conveyance, reservoir and pump station operations,
including alerts, notifications, trending, graphical displays and
operational control screens.
- Direct the analysis, interpretation and dissemination of operational
data through dashboards, reports and decision-support models,
including water, sewer, water-quality, reservoir-safety and
infrastructure-planning applications, to support routine operations,
performance monitoring, emergency response and disaster
management
- Deliver innovative IT and OT projects from concept to
implementation, working with multidisciplinary teams and
stakeholders.
- Provide leadership in the integration of SCADA, telemetry,
communications and operational data with decision-support
systems, dashboards and analytical models to improve
infrastructure monitoring, operational control, resource utilisation,
service continuity and network resilience
- Champion digital transformation and emerging technologies to
enhance operational performance and customer outcomes.
- Manage strategic partnerships, contracts, consultants, budgets
and procurement to achieve business objectives.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of technical
and professional specialists.
