Job summary
We are currently seeking a Barista that will be responsible for delivering, according to requirements and expectations, coffee and alcoholic beverages at Folk Cafe St James. The employee will be responsible for the delivery of all products according to set quality standards and in line with corporate culture and regulations. This position will be customer facing and it is essential that the applicant maintains strong working relationships and communication with customers and colleagues at all times. The ideal candidate is a vibrant individual who is strong with people, is technically competent as a barista, can cope with pressure, has strong communication skills and is well structured. Job Objectives
1. To produce the highest quality beverages, according to set company standards and training expectations
2. To maintain quality standards when delivering products and services to customers
3. To maintain the day to day operations of the cafe
4. To encourage sales and customer loyalty by applying behavioural standards and living the brand
5. To follow hygiene, and management policies and procedures to ensure optimal operations
6. To ensure stock and equipment is maintained, cleaned and accounted for
Job Requirements
· Grade 12 (Desirable)
· Relevant barista experience or training (Essential)
· Must be capable of learning new skills required to perform in the role within 2 weeks (Essential)
· Must be able to lift up to 25kg’s without assistance (Essential)
· Knowledge of POS system (Essential)
· Verbal communication skills
· Organisational and planning skills
· Knowledge of customer service standards and expectations
· Comfortable following rules and regulations
· The ability to thrive in a small company setting
· Knowledge of coffee
· Knowledge of cocktails, beers and wines
· Practical knowledge of coffee preparation (coffee extraction, milk texturing etc)
· Knowledge of coffee and bar equipment and maintenance
****NBNBNB***** All applicants need to be able to commute to work by 6:30am and also be able to return home at 10pm by their own means.
