Our team has provided power management, backup power, solar energy and water metering and generator solutions to our customers in Cape Town and the surrounding areas.
We are currently looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. The incumbent will form part of a team that design, maintain and manage backup power, solar energy, metering and generator solutions services.

Specific duties include, but is not limited to:

Execute electrical installation projects with precision, adhering to safety standards.

Co-draft proposals for client projects, ensuring alignment with project goals.

Conduct site assessments and participate in client meetings to gather requirements and provide technical insights.

Investigate sites to determine electrical system requirements and constraints.

Propose backup solutions to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to coordinate project activities and ensure timely delivery.

Manage projects from inception to completion, overseeing installation processes and quality control.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to developing internal procedures.

Provide technical electrical support to various departments within the organization.

Support operational staff in troubleshooting and resolving system alerts and issues.

Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of UPS, backup power, and solar installations.

Handle metering installations, faults, and replacements efficiently.

Attend emergency generators and electrical breakdowns as needed.

Manage subcontractors by reviewing quotes, ensuring quality, and maintaining project timelines.

Work on online prepaid vending systems when required, ensuring functionality and reliability.

Investigate and resolve prepaid meter faults and assist with onsite utility queries.

Oversee solar and backup system installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

Conduct energy audits and prepare reports on system performance and energy efficiency.

Investigate and troubleshoot electrical faults in residential estates and commercial buildings.

Inspect all components of solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, mounting, and balance of system.
Requirements:
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience and Knowledge:

Proven experience in electrical design, simulation, and project execution.

Strong technical expertise in backup power systems, UPS, and solar installations.

Normal working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00 with a 45 minute lunch break. The company allows employees, by approval of the direct manager, to work flexi time between 07h00 and 18h00.
With centrally located and modern offices just across from Cavendish in Claremont, Faircape offers a market-related salary from R 26 000 Cost to Company per month. The amount offered will be dependent on qualifications, experience and other market related factors.
