Job Duties
- Inspect lifting equipment and accessories before use to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose.
- Select the correct lifting gear based on load weight, size, and lifting requirements.
- Calculate load weights and determine appropriate lifting methods.
- Attach, secure, and guide loads during lifting operations.
- Ensure all lifting activities are carried out in accordance with approved lifting plans and risk assessments.
- Communicate clearly with crane operators and banksmen during lifting operations.
- Establish and maintain safe exclusion zones around lifting areas.
- Conduct pre-lift inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Report defective lifting equipment and remove unserviceable equipment from use.
- Ensure lifting equipment inspection records and colour-coding systems are maintained.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site inspections.
- Stop any lifting activity that poses a risk to people, equipment, or property.
- Assist with incident investigations involving lifting operations when required.
- Comply with all company, client, and legal health and safety requirements.

Minimum Requirements
- Valid Rigger Trade Certificate or recognised Rigging Qualification.
- Relevant lifting and rigging competency certificates.
- Valid medical certificate of fitness.
- Minimum 3 years' rigging experience in construction, mining, industrial, or engineering environments.
- Good knowledge of lifting equipment, load calculations, and rigging techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret lifting plans and rigging drawings.
Pay: R150,00 - R250,00 per hour
