Job Description and Summary
The SAP Centre of Excellence (CoE) Consultant plays a key role in executing fieldwork for the Cape Town SAP CoE within the Risk Assurance division. The role is primarily office-based and supports PwC firms across the globe through remote engagements. The Consultant makes use of PwC proprietary tools, robotic process automation (RPA), and Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets to deliver assurance services over the SAP ERP system.

The SAP CoE Consultant is an integral member of the SAP CoE team, contributing to the delivery of consistent, high-quality results within agreed timelines and at scale. Given the high volume of engagements, strong discipline, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential to success in this role.
Job Profile
Principal Accountabilities
The SAP CoE Consultant is responsible for executing fieldwork activities for the Cape Town SAP Centre of Excellence within the Risk Assurance division. Working primarily on engagements for PwC firms worldwide, the Consultant applies standardized methodologies using PwC proprietary tools, RPA, and data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets to provide assurance over SAP systems.
Typically, the role includes the following responsibilities:
- Reviewing SAP data received from remote systems to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Developing a sound understanding of the technical aspects of assigned tasks through available resources and coaching
- Performing required testing and procedures in line with provided work programmes and task lists
- Accurately documenting results using predefined templates
- Communicating effectively with the responsible manager and remote firm stakeholders as required
- Comprehensive training specific to SAP and the Centre of Excellence environment will be provided to support successful performance in the role.
Requirements
We are looking for
Minimum qualifications:
Any degree with a strong information technology/systems component. (Hons. degree advantageous.)
SAP experience or training is useful but not required.
Key knowledge and skills:
- Strong basic computer skills.
- Curious and able to learn complex technical concepts fast.
- Solid understanding of the concepts of risk, processes and controls.
- Attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of exceptional quality work and interactions.
- Ability to follow instructions closely.
- Ability to manage workload under time pressure.
- Excellent communication skills (clear and concise), especially in the written word.
