The Isabel Byers School of Speech and Drama is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated teacher; who is passionate about children, Drama and making a difference!
We run an extramural Speech and Drama program to schools in primarily lower income areas and underprivileged communities in Cape Town. We are committed to empowering our students through Speech and Drama.

Info:
- The position will officially start on the 15th of July 2026.
- Teachers will receive a curriculum, lesson plans and all teaching materials
- Teachers will receive training and teaching support throughout the year
- Working hours will be between 12pm - 3:30pm from Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, during school terms.
- Teachers will be given a weekly set schedule of schools for the year. We are currently looking for a teacher to teach at our schools.
- Teachers teach at the schools, not in an office or studio environment
- Teachers are paid an hourly rate of R170 per hour for teaching (minimum of two hours per day)
- Teachers are paid extra for attending their students concerts etc.
- Teachers are paid for any extra work on top of their salary
- We have a FULL admin team, so admin is minimal for a teacher
- Teachers are given a petrol allowance
- Teachers are given a bonus depending on their performance review
Candidates must:
- Have some experience teaching/working with children
- Have some knowledge about Drama as a subject and or experience in performance (not compulsory)
- Have their own vehicle and a valid drivers license (this is non- negotiable)
- Be responsible and reliable
- Be willing to learn and have a positive attitude
- Have excellent problem solving skills
- Be able to take initiative
- Be available between the hours of 12pm - 3:30pm (Monday - Thursday)
- Have another source of income or is not in need of one, as this is a part time position.
