Minimum Qualifications Criteria
· Grade 12.
· National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Mining Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related qualification.
· COMSOC 1 and COMSOC 2 (or equivalent mining safety qualification).
· Minimum of 5 years' mining safety experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
· Extensive knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act, Regulations and associated legal requirements.
· Proven experience in incident investigation, risk management and safety auditing.
· Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
· Valid Code B driver's licence.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
· Develop, implement and maintain the mine's Safety Management Systems.
· Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, Regulations, Mandatory Codes of Practice and Company Standards.
· Conduct and oversee risk assessments, safety inspections, audits and workplace monitoring programmes.
· Lead accident and incident investigations and ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
· Compile, analyse and submit statutory reports, safety statistics and management reports.
· Monitor legal compliance and provide recommendations to management regarding corrective actions and risk mitigation.
· Facilitate safety training, awareness campaigns and behavioural-based safety initiatives.
· Liaise with the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), organised labour, contractors and other stakeholders on safety-related matters.
· Manage, mentor and develop Safety Department personnel.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving Zero Harm and enhancing the mine's safety culture.
· Participate in operational planning and provide specialist safety guidance to line management.
Additional Criteria
· Medically fit, with the ability to obtain a Red Ticket
· Willingness to work shifts and overtime as needed.
· SAMTRAC or equivalent qualification.
· Underground metalliferous mining experience.
· Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines.
· Additional mining-related qualifications.

Pay: R75 000,00 - R95 000,00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Barberton, Mpumalanga: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
