Safari JOBS is now searching for a Game Farm Supervisor Couple for a plains game wildlife farm that offers self-catering guest accommodation. The property is situated in Limpopo, less than 3 hours’ drive from Pretoria.
Our client is searching for a multifaceted couple whom will be able to handle various tasks including - running and supervising the game farm, assisting with farm and property maintenance, Guest liaison, administrative work, and assistance with transfers between the property and major local airports / cities.
At least one partner of the couple must also be qualified as a Field Guide (NQF 2) or higher, as they will need to conduct game drives at the game farm as well as assist with occasional game drives at the nearby sister property on the bordering Big 5 reserve. The couple will also stand in at the Big 5 property in the absence of that management couple.
The property offers two family friendly camps within a Malaria free area. This is not an officially graded operation but runs at 4 star self-catering level for a maximum of up to 26 Guests within both camps. Activities at the property include hiking, swimming, mountain biking, self-drive or guided game drives, fishing and quad biking.
Unfortunately this is not a child or pet friendly vacancy.

PARTNER 1:
Field Guide (NQF 2) or higher; Valid drivers’ licence and PrDP; First Aid Level 1; CATHSSETA / NDT registered; General game farm maintenance work experience & any associated qualifications; Must have some Big 5 game drive and reserve / farm management experience.
PARTNER 2:
Must have some hospitality / lodge / game farm experience and understanding;
Willing to apply for PrDP if not already in possession of one to potentially assist with transfers
& :
Managing & running the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of the game farm and accommodation offerings;
The successful candidates would need to keep an eye on things, check on the guests to make sure they are happy, and interact with them etc;
Maintenance at the game farm and at the Big 5 sister property as / if needed;
Transfers of guests between airports / nearby cities and the game farm / bordering game reserve;
Doing game drives and nature walks with kids and families at the game farm, and drives at the Big 5 sister property as / if needed;
Partner two will also be responsible for looking after the Guests, admin work, housekeeping, assistance with transfers if required etc;
As the game farm is self-catering the Manager/s will not need to host Guests unless perhaps invited by the Guests.
Although primarily based at the game farm the couple will also stand in at the Big 5 property in the absence of that management couple.

Monthly gross salary of approximately R30 – R40, 000.00 for the couple. Possibly further NEG. depending on qualifications & experience - please advise your gross salary expectations upon application;
Meals: Additional food allowance of R1, 500.00 per person, per month;
Accommodation: VERY BIG, BEAUTIFUL private house – probably the best staff accommodation in the industry!
Uniform: Partly provided by the company: Shirts, cap and winter fleece;
Laundry: Done by staff.
Gratuities: Would receive any specified game farm tips, as well as specified tips when guiding at the Big 5 sister property, partner will also potentially share in the sister property pooled tips if assisting at the property;

UIF contributions;
Annual performance bonus, at the total discretion of the Directors and is based on the performance of the business and the employee/s
Working Hours: Work week of 5.5 days but due to the managerial responsibilities as and when needed;
Annual Leave: 17 work days leave per year on an approval basis.
As this is a small privately owned property the company does not subscribe to a group medical aid or provident fund - please factor the costs thereof into your salary expectation if a requirement.
