Truworths has an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager with Retail and Contracts experience.
This role will be based at our head office in Cape Town.
• Plan and manage project construction programme • Prepare and manage project budget • Ensure that all stores are built to the Company's standards • Liaise with developers and project teams to ensure that the premises are developed in accordance with the agreed specification • Survey proposed new sites and give feedback to Properties with respect to the extent of leasehold work required • Give advice and assistance to Divisions with major repairs and maintenance issues • Assist with the exportation of shopfitting elements from South Africa to relevant African countries • Liaise with external energy consultants & internal store operations teams regarding the energy conservation initiatives in stores • Prepare reports for the Board and various relevant committees relating to feedback of the energy conservation initiatives • No direct reports at this stage
• Seeking candidates with experience as a Quality Surveyor and Project Manager • Experience dealing with contractors etc. • Ideally retail and shop fitting experience • Matric and relevant qualifications • 5 years min relevant recent working experience • Retail project management experience in Africa and experience of managing projects on the ground, sourcing local contractors and materials etc. • An understanding of exporting and shipping of shopfitting beyond the borders of South Africa • An awareness of energy conservation options that are available in the retail environment
