Trafalgar East London is seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Regional Financial Manager to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing strategic financial management with operational excellence. The successful candidate will oversee the Branch's financial operations, ensuring sound financial governance, effective trust account management, accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and the continuous improvement of financial processes.
Working closely with Branch Managers and operational teams, you will play a key leadership role in supporting the financial success of the region while managing and developing a dedicated finance team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Managing the region's day-to-day financial operations.
Producing accurate, timely financial and management reports.
Overseeing trust account administration and financial governance.
Managing creditors, payments, reconciliations and cash flow.
Ensuring VAT compliance and processing SARS payments.
Performing bank reconciliations and resolving reconciling items.
Managing weekly and monthly trust draw processes.
Preparing annual and monthly budgets while monitoring financial performance against approved budgets.
Supervising trust accounting functions, municipal payments and deposit refunds.
Preparing internal and external audit files and responding to auditor queries.
Managing financial controls, fraud prevention initiatives and risk mitigation.
Leading, mentoring and developing the regional finance team.
Monitoring funded balances, variance reporting, recoveries and debtors.
Driving cost-saving initiatives and continuous process improvements.
Supporting Branch Managers with financial guidance and operational queries.
Ensuring compliance with company policies, financial procedures and internal controls.
Matric (Grade 12).
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related Diploma/Degree.
Previous accounting experience is essential.
Proven experience in financial management and supervision.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial reporting.
Experience managing budgets, cash flow and audit preparation.
High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Strong systems knowledge (experience with Unibrowse or similar financial systems will be advantageous).
Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
