Florentin is a brand new Middle Eastern-Mediterranean restaurant opening in the Cape Town CBD at the beginning of December 2023. We are looking for a sous chef to run the prep kitchen, based in Maitland, and also work in the restaurant in the CBD from time to time.
We are looking for an individual who possesses the following characteristics:
- Passionate about cooking and cooking to perfection - following recipes, seasoning, understanding ingredients, understanding temperatures, understanding stock management
- Ability to work in a pressurized environment and lead a team - good leadership skills, people management, motivational and able to supervise those under you
- Reliability and Accountability - punctual, willing to put in the hours, able to work public holidays and weekends where required, a real positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow
- Able to commute (should have a car)
- Have 2/3 years experience in high-level restaurant environments and have significant qualifications (chefs diploma or equivalent from a recognised institution)
- Eager to be part of a new project and be flexible and agile, a quick thinker with a solution-driven mindset
