Your Duties and Responsibilities...
-
Draft, review, negotiate and provide legal advice across the business in respect of a wide range of agreements, including commercial leases, supplier agreements, SLA’s, MSA’s with a primary focus on the property portfolio.

Handling and assisting the Clubs and the Customer Engagement teams with member issues insofar as they relate to legal and/or membership contract matters, advising on in-Club member disciplinary matters, liaising with Club General Managers and Insurers, and ensuring implementation of Club rules and operational standards for disciplinary

Provide legal support to the Legal Director in relation to corporate matters, including assisting with annual audit matters, due diligence, corporate agreements, trademark license arrangements and finance.

Manage litigation in conjunction with external

Company secretarial

Identify and mitigate legal risks in business operations and
-
Support internal stakeholders with practical, business-oriented legal
-
Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments in South
-
Maintain and improve contract templates and
-
Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, including:

Consumer Protection Act (CPA)
-
National Credit Act (where applicable)
-
Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
-
Develop and implement legal compliance frameworks and policies..

LLB Degree and admission as an Attorney of the High Court.

6-8 years post admission experience
-
Strong knowledge of commercial property and leasing, preferably within a multi-site or national property portfolio
-
Commercial litigation and dispute-resolution experience
-
Strong knowledge of South African legal and regulatory framework
-
Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills
-
Sound understanding of risk management and compliance
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
-
Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives
