The Central Eastern Europe Middle East & Africa (CEEMEA) Fixed Income desk acts as a market maker providing clients with access to local markets through three strategies: (1) Fixed Income/Rates/Money Markets, (2) Foreign Exchange and (3) Cross Border.
The client base is a mix of CEEMEA clients who wish to gain exposure to the local markets as either investment opportunities or as part of their multinational operations that require hedging solutions.

A degree of flexibility
Key Responsibilities
Pricing, trading and risk managing a South African money market and secured lending book
Providing back up pricing on the Government bond trading book
You will be responsible for effective cash management and PnL generation from money market trades, repo trades FX spot trading and bond trading as you mature in the role.
Responsible for developing and enhancing the CEEMEA electronic trading platform
Analyzing market structure and the opportunities and threats there-in
Managing financial risk and non-financial risks
Responsible to ensure that all KYC requirements are adhered to and complied with for all clients of the desk
Interacting with clients, sales and internal counterparties in other trading, coverage and structuring functions to increase market transparency and to generate new business
Building a sustainable business and market share following the hubbing of these businesses in London
Skills/Competency Requirements:
At least 1-3 years’ experience in investment bank/financial services role with exposure to front office and trading
A deep understanding of the asset class
Requires Registered Bond Trader exams
Advantage to have RPE bond and market money market exams as well as FX rules and regulations knowledge
Strong desire to create PnL, take risk and manage risk
Proven risk management skills
Strong quantitative skills
A deep understanding of capital and regulatory matters
Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
Able to understand and interpret market trends and identify, communicate and market trade ideas
Able to work in a high paced environment under pressure
