Dental Assistant – Dental Day Spa

Location: Mamelodi, Pretoria, Gauteng

About Dental Day Spa

Dental Day Spa is a modern practice where dentistry meets beauty. We are committed to delivering exceptional patient care through high clinical standards, compassion, and outstanding customer service. We are looking for a motivated and caring Dental Assistant who is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and supporting the clinical team in delivering excellent care.

Position Summary

The Dental Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the practice by assisting the dentist during procedures, preparing treatment rooms, maintaining infection control standards, and creating a positive experience for every patient.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms before each patient appointment.
Assist the dentist during general dental, restorative, cosmetic, orthodontic, and emergency procedures.
Sterilise instruments and maintain strict infection prevention and control protocols.
Prepare dental materials, instruments, and equipment for procedures.
Take and process dental radiographs where permitted and trained.
Maintain accurate clinical records and assist with treatment documentation.
Ensure treatment rooms are clean, organised, and fully stocked.
Monitor and manage clinical stock levels and report shortages.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care as instructed by the dentist.
Assist with laboratory work, impressions, and model preparation where required.
Support patient comfort before, during, and after treatment.
Perform opening and closing duties in the clinical area.
Work closely with the reception team to ensure efficient patient flow.
Assist with maintaining equipment and reporting any faults.

Minimum Requirements

Dental Assistant qualification or relevant clinical training.
Registered with the HPCSA.
Previous experience in a dental practice is advantageous but not necessary as this is aninternship post
Knowledge of infection control and sterilisation procedures.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy.
Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
Professional appearance and excellent work ethic.
