The Financial Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of revenue streams by identifying, investigating, and resolving discrepancies. This role involves driving strategy, implementation and monitoring of revenue assurance controls and analysing the resulting data.
As a DFA – Financial Analyst you will be empowered to deliver the following:
Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the annual budgeting process and the preparation of the medium-term financial plan across all business units.
- Coordinate the collection, review, and consolidation of budget and forecast submissions from business stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of rolling forecasts and periodic reforecasts, ensuring alignment with business performance and strategic objectives.
- Challenge assumptions and identify key risks and opportunities impacting financial performance.
Management Reporting & Performance Analysis
- Prepare monthly management reporting packs, including financial and operational performance analysis.
- Perform detailed variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior-year performance, identifying key drivers of results.
- Monitor and analyse key financial and operational KPIs, providing meaningful commentary and recommendations to management.
- Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities through analysis of financial, commercial, and operational data.
- Support the preparation of reporting and presentations for Executive Committee, Board, and shareholder meetings.
Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
- Partner with operational, commercial, and functional teams to provide financial insight and decision support.
- Support revenue analysis, pricing evaluations, margin enhancement initiatives, and customer profitability assessments.
- Assist in evaluating business cases, investment proposals, capital expenditure requests, and strategic initiatives through financial modelling and return-on-investment analysis.
- Provide financial input into commercial negotiations, contract reviews, and new business opportunities where required.
- Act as a trusted finance partner by translating financial information into actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
Financial Modelling & Strategic Analysis
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and business performance evaluation.
- Conduct ad hoc financial and commercial analyses to address specific business challenges and opportunities.
- Perform scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to assess the financial impact of key business decisions.
- Support strategic projects, acquisitions, integrations, and other corporate initiatives as required.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Analysis
- Support cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning processes.
- Monitor working capital trends and provide analysis to support cash generation and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve cash flow performance and optimise capital allocation.
Systems, Data Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Assist in the development and enhancement of FP&A tools, reporting systems, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions.
- Leverage data analytics tools to improve reporting quality, efficiency, and business insight.
- Drive process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing forecasting accuracy, reporting effectiveness, and financial controls.
- Contribute to the automation and standardisation of financial reporting and planning processes..
What makes YOU our ideal candidate:
We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with the drive to excel in a demanding tech landscape.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional qualification or progress towards a professional designation (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent) will be advantageous.
- 3–5 years’ experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Commercial Finance, Corporate Finance, Financial Analysis, or a related finance function.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial modelling.
- Experience supporting business stakeholders through financial analysis and decision support.
- Exposure to ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Sage, or similar platforms.
