Full Job Description

We're hiring: Reception / Rental Admin Assistant

This one is a little different, so it's worth reading properly.

We're looking for someone to join our Hermanus office as our Reception and Rental Admin Assistant — but we're not looking for someone who wants to sit at reception forever. We're looking for the person who will grow through it.

The path we have in mind: you start at reception and in rental admin, learning our systems, our portfolio and our clients from the ground up. From there, you move deeper into the rental admin department, and — for the right person who puts in the work — on towards managing your own property portfolio as a Portfolio Manager. Every good portfolio manager we know understands the admin backbone of this business inside out. That's exactly where this role starts.

What the first chapter looks like:

Being the welcoming face and voice of our office, in person and on the phone
Quality-checking property listings and photos — spelling, detail, accuracy
Creating social media posts and adverts in Canva and with AI tools
Coordinating contractors, following up on jobs and payments, keeping clients updated
Weekly stats, sales meeting minutes, and keeping our office organised and positive
Helping wherever needed — we're a small team and we back each other

Who we're hoping to meet:

Someone warm, energetic and well presented, who takes pride in how they show up
Fluent in English and Afrikaans
Strong IT skills, confident in Canva, comfortable learning AI tools
Sharp on detail — errors don't get past you
Excellent people and telephone skills
Settled in Hermanus, with the maturity and life experience to steady a busy office — and looking for a long-term home, not a stepping stone
Own reliable transport
Property experience is a bonus, not a requirement. Attitude and appetite to learn matter more.
