Full Job Description

Position Overview

The Assistant Restaurant Manager assists with the daily operation of the restaurant, ensuring efficient service, high standards and a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the daily opening, running and closing of the restaurant.
Supervise and support Front of House staff during service.
Allocate staff duties and ensure sections are properly managed.
Maintain high standards of customer service, cleanliness and presentation.
Assist with staff training, performance and day-to-day discipline.
Ensure food and beverage service standards are maintained.
Assist with bar operations, stock control and daily checklists.
Handle customer queries and complaints professionally.
Assist with POS, cash-up and basic daily administration.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen and management team.
Ensure health, safety and hygiene standards are followed.
Report operational issues, maintenance requirements and stock shortages to management.
Step in and assist wherever required during busy periods.

Requirements

Previous restaurant or hospitality experience.
Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work under pressure and lead by example.
Reliable, organised and hands-on.
Flexible to work weekends, public holidays and varying shifts.

Key Expectation

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is expected to be a hands-on leader, actively involved in the operation and setting the standard for the team through professionalism, accountability and genuine hospitality.

Pay: Up to R15 000,00 per month

Work Location: In person
