Full Job Description

East Rand Bulk is a premier, accredited fuel transportation company. We pride ourselves on safety, reliability, and industry excellence. We are looking for an experienced, vibrant, and energetic HSEQ Officer to champion our Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.

The Role

Your mission is to effectively control the company’s HSEQ programme. You will ensure full compliance with the OHS Act, drive environmental campaigns, maintain quality standards, and foster a proactive safety culture across multiple operational sites.

Key Responsibilities

Risk & Hazard Control: Identify potential workplace hazards to actively prevent occupational injuries and diseases.
Incident Investigation: Attend all vehicle accidents and conduct rigorous root-cause investigations.
Compliance & Legislation: Ensure full adherence to the Road Traffic Act, Fleet Compliance, and Dangerous Goods transportation laws.
Audits & Reporting: Manage CAIA/SQAS auditing processes and compile monthly safety reports for the CEO.
Training & Awareness: Deliver OHS Act training and spearhead pollution and environmental awareness campaigns.
Site Management: Lead management-level OHS meetings and ensure safety reps execute monthly checks.
Continuous Improvement: Maintain annual Responsible Care QIP submissions to CAIA and stay updated on local/national regulations.

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
Experience: 1–3 years in a similar HSEQ role within the Fuel, Transport & Tanker industry.
Audit Expertise: Fully versed in CAIA / SQAS auditing and processes.
Legal Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the OHS Act, ISO standards, and Road Traffic Act.
Fleet Admin: Experienced in licensing, vehicle verification, and Certificate of Fitness (COF) processes.
Professionalism: Presentable appearance, professional email/telephone etiquette, and a mature work ethic.

Key Competencies:

Strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work unsupervised and thrive under pressure.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse team.

Preferred Advantages:

SAMTRAC qualification.
Strong HSE administrative background.
