FITTER & ASSEMBLER (SPECIAL BUILD OFF-ROAD & TRAILERS)

Location: Pomona, Kempton Park,

GautengSalary: Market-related (Negotiable based on experience)

Position Type: Full-timePurpose of the

Role:The Fitter & Assembler is responsible for constructing, fitting, and custom-building rugged utility and camping off-road trailers according to blueprints and technical specifications.Key

Responsibilities: Blueprint Interpretation: Read, interpret, and execute engineering designs, technical drawings, and custom client specifications accurately.

Fabrication & Welding: Cut, grind, drill, and perform structural welding (MIG/TIG) on steel or aluminum chassis, frames, and body parts.

Mechanical Assembly: Fit, align, and install axles, heavy-duty off-road suspension systems, couplers, braking systems, and specialized custom brackets.

Systems Installation: Correctly route, mount, and integrate specialized equipment, including 12V/220V electrical harnesses, LED lighting, water tanks, pumps, and pneumatic/plumbing lines.

Quality Control: Inspect finished builds thoroughly to ensure structural strength, alignment, precision tolerances, and adherence to quality standards prior to final testing.Requirements & Skills: Qualifications: Relevant Trade Certificate (e.g., Fitter, Welder, or National Certificate in Mechanical Fitting/Welding) OR proven, verifiable practical experience in trailer building or vehicle body manufacturing.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with workshop power tools, hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and welding machinery. Physical Capacity: Physically fit and able to lift heavy components, stand for extended periods, and work productively in a demanding workshop environment.

Safety & Compliance: Strict adherence to workshop safety regulations, the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, Protective Equipment (PPE).

Pay: From R15 000,00 per month
